First I was gonna post about my upcoming week, then I was gonna do a picspam of baby!Lani, and then I was gonna do a music post. IDK WHICH TO DO. Discuss.
I'm so tired, jeez.
I DO LOVE LADY GAGA AND I'M NOT EMBARRASSED. Also, Black Friday approaches. Yessss.

ALSO HI

I just found this last night. In a PUBLIC POST at
HAYYYYYYYYDN. How so cute? Also, DO IT, TAKE THE TONY FROM HIM, YOU DESERVE IT.

And then there's Haydn with a little boy in a top hat. Yeah. Only thing that could make this better? IF HAYDN WAS WEARING THE TOP HAT.

At the Broadway Flea Market with Tovah Feldshuh. Fun fact: I am almost certain she was wearing this sweater when I bumped into her in the lobby at The Norman Conquests. I've commented to Eden that I love this sweater set very much. HERE she poses with Eden and has it draped over her shoulders.

THIS OPENS TONIGHT IN CHICAGO AND I WANNA BE THERE. BEBE. JACKIE. CAROLEE. BEBE & JACKIEEEEEEEE.

7. THIS TOOK ME SO MANY HOURS, OMG. This is my new discoveries/loves picspam. And maybe just some random others. It is possibly sorta kinda plagerizing Sammie's picspam of her top 10 musical theatre actresses in the way it's set up. Sorry girl. xD
KATE. BALDWIN. YA'LL. I'm going to upload her singing "I Like The Likes of You" because it is THE CUTEST THING EVER. She's gorgeous and talented, and so help me I need to see her in Finian's Rainbow. I really do. Also, it's at the St. James, and I was totally there once. /Pointless information.
( +9 fan-say collages )
THE END. OH GOD THAT TOOK TOO LONG.
So, a lot has happened? Like my mother calling the mental hospital on me, but whatever. A lot of nice Gretchen things have happened, so that's good. I'm too exhausted to talk about my life right now, because omg awful. But I thought I would go ahead and state that
timandnorah and I are totally going to be roommates. It's happening. Have a Christmas list meme with my wishes that I feel awful for asking for.
Step One- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
Step Two- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it. You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
1. Any Playbills or theatre programs. I don't care if it's a Broadway Playbill or a program from your local community theatre's Shakespeare play. I love those. Anything like that.

4. OPERA ICONS, SWEET JESUS. Or Kathleen Turner icons. Nobody makes these, and it's so sad. Esp. any of the Der Rosenkavalier photos I posted the other day, Maria Callas, or Patricia Racette, because I can already tell I'm going to like her.

8. Christopher Guest movies. I only own A Mighty Wind, so yeah. I don't even care if they're copies. Srsly.

I suppose the week anniversary of the closing is as appropriate a time as any for this.

For the record, my title text comes from a Marianne Faithfull song called "Without Blame." Heh.

Anywho...Then we (We being Miss Betty, her Awkward Sister, and I) ate really bad Mexican food, which I don't care who you are, is like sacrilegious. You don't watch a film about Julia Child and then go eat really bad food. You just... don't.
It's always really awkward around Miss Betty's sister because she has, on average, one thought per hour. So then you're left to fill the time. And she really doesn't care about Janet McTeer. So, awkward lunch is awkward. I excused myself to leave them alone and walked outside to call
This morning I woke up around 10 AM and took a shower and realized I forgot more pants/shorts. So all day I've been running around in thick, black leggings and a Chicago t-shirt. And I've never been more comfortable, so there. I watched a Patti LuPone Gypsy and a Next to Normal Off-Broadway bootleg. Yay renewed interest in musical theatre! And then I watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire because I was in a Rita Skeeter mood. Yes, I have those. I finished up today on the phone with Eden for a reeeeeeeeally long time, which was fun. That's about it. Worst entry ever. The end.

SarahB is an opera and theatre enthusiast, and her blog is good for alerts on upcoming events, and amusing insight. +10 Cool Points for her being originally from Texas. :) My favourite recent thing she posted is a link to a Broadway.com video of Rondi Reed in her dressing room. Here. Let's talk about how this made my day. K? "Shut up, I have a Tony."

Steve's blog, I found about a year ago, and have read ever since. Read for reviews of shows all over the world- Steve works for a travel company- not just New York. Great for variety.
Theatre Afficianado At Large. ~~~ Twitter.
Kevin Daly, the brilliant writer behind Theatre Afficianado At Large is amazingly witty. I met him when I saw the Norman Conquests, and he was also really nice in person. His reviews are well thought through, funny, and beautifully written. He also gets brownie points for having seen August: Osage County seven times on Broadway. You go, Kevin!
An example of Kevin's bad-assery, he posts things like this.
Gwen Verdon dance remixed to 'Walk it Out'. Holy gods, that is EPIC.

Roxie is really sweet. She's also really, really hysterically funny. This shows in her blog posts. I've only recently become a reader, since meeting her at The Norman Conquests (click here to read her review of the show), but her posts are a joy to read. Also, her blog links to the [title of show] blog, which automatically ups her awesome. PS- We totally fangirled Amanda Root together, and both managed not to spazz as Haydn Gwynne walked DIRECTLY behind her. Word.

Esther is always ready with an intriguing blog post! She's a very caring, lovely Twitter friend of mine, and I've only recently begun reading her blog as well. She has thoughts on quite a lot of things, and isn't afraid to share them. My favourite entry of hers as of late pertains to Theatre Trip Tips and is entitled "Drawing the curtain on my theatre season." Check it out, here.

Guilty as charged, I sometimes refer to them as the 'Fancy New York Theatre Bloggers', because I am very jealous of their goings on and such. But they should keep up their adventures, because I enjoy reading about them way too much!
I hope you check out all these blogs and give them a chance!
NOW, save a couple possible picspams or screencapping ventures between now and then, I'm off to be camping for the weekend.
